TESTIMONIALS

Name: Abby,    Age: 23,   Occupation: Financial Analyst

"Ride Amigos is awesome. Before I found my amigo I either woke up at an exceedingly unreasonable hour so that I could walk to the subway or rode in a cab alone.  Once I found ride amigos, I was  connected me with someone who lives on my block, works in my building, and now we ride to work together. It makes the dowtown to midtown commute nearly non-existent. It takes about 8 minutes as opposed to an hour!"

Name: Jeff,    Age: 25,   Occupation: Cash Portfolio Manager

"Within 24 hours of my posting, someone contacted me to share a daily ride. Turns out, not only did she live on my block, but she worked on the same floor as me at work! Now, we meet at 7:15 AM outside the corner deli and share a cab to work everyday (and sometimes home). My commute went from being $12 to $6, and there is still room for two more Amigos! I hope that everyone can find an Amigo like mine!"

Name: Ian,    Age: 29,   Occupation: Film Production

"Last week I got matched up with a co-worker. I had always wanted to talk to her but never had a good reason to approach her. This was perfect. Now we split cabs three times a week and this weekend we're going out on our first date!"

Name: Lauren,    Age: 29,   Occupation: Doctor

"My name is Lauren and my normal commute took 55 minutes in the subway! After finding an Amigo online, my commute now takes only 12 minutes. No joke, I am totally less stressed and I even walk slower, for only $5 bucks a day. This site is genius!  Thanks RideAmigos!!!"

"As gasoline prices continue to rise, we need to move toward mass transit, rail, and electric-powered vehicles, and increase efficiency standards of gasoline-powered vehicles. While this transition is underway, we should support all means to increase efficient use of today's technology, and ride sharing is a great way to do it. Sierra Club NYC's report, "Sustainable Energy Independence for NYC," spells out why this transition is inevitable, and why it should be accelerated at maximum speed. Read it at www.beyondoilnyc.org . Use ride sharing services to slow global warming and reduce America's dependence on imported oil."

HOW IT WORKS

STEP 1. REGISTER: Create a personal profile and password- and an email will automatically be sent to your inbox for verification.

STEP 2. CHECK YOUR EMAIL AND SIGN IN: When you receive your email confirmation, log on to RideAmigos.com, using your email address as your user name.

STEP 3. SEARCH FOR AMIGOS: Enter your ride criteria, hit Search, and all matching posts will appear. Browse our list of posts, select a potential amigo, and type a message in the text field that will appear- then SEND (note: the recipient will see your login email address, prompting him/her to respond to you directly).

STEP 4. CREATE A POST: If you do not find a match right away (FEAR NOT!), post your own listing.

STEP 5. EMAIL! EMAIL! EMAIL! : Once contact has been made, it’s up to you to coordinate meetings. Decide on a time and a place (ie: the North East corner of 3rd Street and Avenue B at 7:10 AM), and show up. Should there be a change or a cancellation, let your amigo know!

STEP 6. NOW WHAT? We encourage you to arrange a shared ride between as many people as possible, so your post is still valuable even after you find a ride. Build up that community spirit, get together and help make a change. The more people in your ride, the more money you save, and more you help the environment.

A: All Amigos must be 18 and over - NO EXCEPTIONS.

A: We urge all RideAmigos to bring enough money to cover the cost of the entire trip, just in case something does go wrong.
